New Jersey based Immigration Attorney Sheetal Markan a.k.a. Steven Markan started its own solo practice with special emphasis on immigration & nationality law. He earned his Master of Law Degree the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Central Islip, New York (LL.M. 2006) and is admitted to the New York State Bar in February 2009. He also received his law degree from the Panjab University Law School, Chandigarh, India (LL.B. 1999).
Attorney Markan was raised in Chandigarh, India and practiced in the Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, India from 1999- August 2004 as a litigator and represented a diverse group of clients in Civil, Service Matters, Corporate and Commercial Laws under the guidance and support from his father Mr. Amarjit Markan, Chandigarh who is still practicing as a Lawyer in the Indian Legal System since 1967.
Attorney Markan began work in the field of immigration law since 2007. He worked as in-house counsel for an information technology company, focusing on employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant matters. Currently, Attorney Markan primary & core practice deals with professional and corporate immigration. Himself an immigrant, Attorney Markan has personal experience with the process. He understands what immigration means to his clients and enjoys assisting them with obtaining lawful status. He knows the challenges and is committed to providing guidance and seamless assistance to individuals and companies to integrate with the immigration process. He is fluent in Hindi & Panjabi too, an Indian language.

She also received her Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature in 2002.
Attorney Smith has extensive experience in the area of family-based immigration and has successfully represented clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S.), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (Immigration Court), and Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. Attorney Smith is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) NJ Chapter.
Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Smith was a teacher and a Peace Corps volunteer. She taught English as a Second Language and Leadership courses. She speaks Romanian.
